Claude Money Reportedly Prepares Personal Finance Feature for iOS

Claude Money iOS interface with AI personal finance and bank account linking.

Anthropic seems to be working on Claude Money, the personal finance feature which will allow customers to link their accounts with banks directly with Claude and also ask questions regarding their spending habits and financial plans.

The feature was first discovered on the Claude iOS application via AI feature tracker on the 14th of September, 2026. Screenshots provided below show a separate money section of Claude’s navigation, as well as an onboarding screen that asks users to connect the accounts to banks, in order to “ask Claude about spending, plans, and more.”

Anthropic does not yet officially announced Claude Money but it is not officially announced information about its availability, launch time as well as the financial institutions that are supported and the data provider that is its base remain undetermined.

The findings point to an growth of Claude as an all-purpose AI assistant to become an even more closely connected personal finance application.

What Is Claude Money?

The feature that is not yet released appears to provide a separate financial area within the Claude iOS application.

The Money entry appears in the app’s sidebar, as well as an additional onboarding screen focused on connecting banks. The app is marketed as a method of understanding the personal financial situation through Claude rather than just adding financial documents to an everyday conversation.

The user interface doesn’t give enough details to know the exact nature of what Claude Money will eventually do. Connecting an account may let the AI assistant process the balance and transaction data; however, features like budgeting, recurring-payment detection, financial analysis, or investment analysis are not yet confirmed capabilities.

For now, the confirmed information is limited to what appears in the unreleased interface:

Detail Current status
Feature name Claude Money / Money
Platform Claude iOS app
Bank connection Shown in the unreleased interface
Financial questions Spending and plans are referenced
Data provider Unknown
Supported banks Unknown
Countries Unknown
Pricing Unknown
Launch date Not announced
Official Anthropic announcement None found

This distinction is important because an interface discovered inside an app does not necessarily mean the feature is ready for public release.

Claude Money Could Give Claude Direct Financial Context

The biggest change in the future is the switch from the financial information provided by users to linked financial data.

An AI assistant could analyse a bank statement when the user provides the required details. A feature that connects finance can instead give users continuous access to the authorized financial information, thus reducing the requirement for users to upload their statements repeatedly or manually record transactions.

This means that claims of Claude Money being able to effortlessly manage investment portfolios, transfer funds to pay bills, or even execute financial transactions are currently over the evidence available.

Anthropic Is Already Expanding Claude Into Finance

Claude Money would not be Anthropic’s first venture into financial apps.

Anthropic is already marketing Claude to financial service providers, and the company markets its AI software for insurance, banking, asset management, and other workflows. The financial services offerings of the company include automated workflows that integrate with the tools and data utilized by financial institutions.

Anthropic has also emphasized the importance of Claude to perform financial analysis as well as other financial-related professional tasks. This makes a finance-related feature aimed at consumers an obvious extension of a field where Anthropic is already working on products and collaborations.

There is evidence to suggest that personal finances are an important topic of discussion among Claude users. In a study conducted in April 2026 of a million Claude.ai conversations, Anthropic found that 11% of the personal-guidance conversations were about personal finances.

The dedicated interface for finance can thus formalize a specific sort of job that users have already tried by way of general Claude conversations.

Claude Money Would Face Competition From ChatGPT

In the event that Anthropic introduces Claude Money, it would be in a category that OpenAI has already announced an exclusive product.

OpenAI has launched the financial experience for individuals in ChatGPT in a pre-release for U.S. Pro customers in the month of May, 2026. In June, the feature was extended to Plus Pro and Pro users across the U.S. on web, iOS, and Android. Users can connect their supported financial accounts with Plaid or ask for help about their financial circumstances.

ChatGPT’s current financial experience can be used to manage subscriptions, spending, bills, net worth, and investments, as well as budgeting, savings goals, and debt planning. OpenAI declares that ChatGPT can’t transfer funds to pay bills, make changes to account settings, or execute trades using the feature.

It is a good reference for understanding the place Claude Money could fit; however, Anthropic hasn’t yet confirmed that the feature, which is not yet released, will provide the same features.

Privacy Will Be a Major Issue for Claude Money

Connecting accounts with banks with an AI assistant can raise a variety of privacy issues compared to asking a more general financial question.

Financial accounts could contain sensitive information regarding the patterns of spending, income, or recurring payments, as well as other aspects of one’s life. Therefore, customers will require precise information regarding the information Claude Money accesses, how long it’s kept, as well as whether it is utilized for improving models and which third party processes the data.

Anthropic’s current consumer privacy policies offer some information; however, they don’t provide information to clarify the way Claude Money would handle connected accounts with financial information.

Anthropic is currently allowing consumers to select whether their chats and code sessions are utilized to enhance Claude. People who opt in get an extended retention period, and Anthropic states that users who don’t opt in will be able to keep the current 30-day retention period. Anthropic says that it doesn’t sell users’ data to third-party companies.

These policies could be relevant for a future Claude Money launch, but Anthropic will still have to describe the specific way to handle related financial data.

Claude Money’s U.S. Availability Is Not Confirmed

The idea of Claude Money launching exclusively in the United States should currently be considered not confirmed.

The discovered iOS interface or Anthropic’s public documents identified a country of launch and supported banks, the pricing structure, and the date of release.

This is especially important for financial products due to banking connectivity, regulations for financial data, as well as institutions supported by them, which differ greatly between countries.

The most reliable definition is that Claude Money is an unreleased iOS feature currently being tested or developed by Anthropic.

If Anthropic decides to launch the feature, it could provide Claude with an even more prominent role in the daily analysis of financial data and planning. While the company has yet to provide official information, its capabilities and availability are still unclear.
